Quinta do Ferroviário, located in Portugal, is more than just an property; it's a living piece of history, where tradition and innovation intertwine. With 10 hectares of fertile land, the quinta is home to 12,000 lemon trees, which thrive under the Portuguese soil and contribute to the region's rich agricultural heritage.
The farm has a very interesting history. Originally, the father of the current owner, Ricardo Pereira, worked as an employee on this very farm. Dedicated and passionate about the land, he cultivated a deep respect for traditional farming practices and for the land itself. Years later, fate took a turn. The son, after achieving financial success, turned his attention to his family roots and decided to buy the farm where his father had worked.
Under his leadership, Quinta do Ferroviário has undergone a transformation. While maintaining the traditions that his father valued so much, he has invested in innovation, bringing in new technologies and ideas, but without ever losing respect for sustainable agricultural practices. This balance between old and new is what defines the essence of Quinta do Ferroviário.
One of the most charming aspects of the farm is the locomotive that runs through the area. This historic railway line, which once transported people and goods through the heart of Portugal, still cuts through the farm's landscape today, echoing the rhythm of Portuguese rural life. That same railway line, which once witnessed so many harvests, is now a symbol of continuity and progress, representing the link between the past and the future.
The decision to plant lemon trees was a tribute to the region's rich agricultural tradition and the desire to create something lasting and fruitful for the future. Through the LemonsChain project, founder Ricardo Pereira seeks to share this vision, offering the world a unique opportunity to participate in this legacy. Each lemon tree, each fruit harvested, carries with it the story of a family, a land and a vision that unites past, present and future.
This project is not just an investment, it is a tribute to the land and history, and a promise that the family tradition will continue to thrive, now connected to the digital world through the innovation of NFTs.
